Maybe what he is referring to is that sometimes when you stretch a loop from one tempo to another, not every hit is exactly on time or where you want it, which would necessitate going in and time correcting a few individual hits. I would think that this would be especially true for loops that have a large amount of swing applied to them.

I'm sure you know what I mean.
