+1 for when the technology advances to the point where we can just clone PARTS of the cow... then we can take the whole "morality of killing for food" bs out of it. Just grow our porterhouses in a freakin petri dish... mmm... |
+1 lol. i know it's been done with chicken meat, but at the moment it costs some rediculous amout of money to produce cloned meat at the moment.. and as i understand it, part of what gives meats their particular flavor is the animal's muscle activity and diet while it was living. i'm sure we'll be able to perfect it all at some point though..

Alter the genes and the clones will grow faster, or have a higher water / muscle percentage( = weight more ), or less bones , be more resistant to diseases, have a more fancy colour, no feathers/hair so you save costs/time removing them etc.
It's going to be tough beating the current costs of raising cattle: in england, raising / process a chicken costs a total £0.03
The logic is in the money. What doesn't count, is you. Us. Stomachs, with wallets. |
Hrm.. I see.. . Still, I was under the impression that it's harder to clone and genetically engineer animals than to just mate them.
