i have a mac pro at home, and at work ive got a power mac G5. theres a few things that bother me about apple in general:
1) lack of SLI on OS X
2) lack of a real video card upgrade for my 'old' mac pro (the 8800 GT is not compatible with old ones, just new mac pros, and i am REALLY pissed about this, steve jobs deserves a major kick in the face for this stunt)
3) lack of list view in folders added to the dock (soon to be changed)
4) Planned obsolescence. This is what pisses me off most about apple. Theyll sell you a good mp3 player, but it wont last, and if u fuck around with the battery, they wont give u warranty, and the battery doesnt last very long either. And you cant take it out. Well....thats great.
5) Proprietary bullshit. Forced use of itunes? Why? Why not UMS? For those of you who are stupid, UMS is generally a term for mp3 players that do not require any software to load mp3s onto a player to play them back. This, also gives the user (be it a mac or pc user) to use whichever software they like. You know whats funny about this? Steve Jobs claims Apple is about 'choice.' When I heard that, i laughed out loud.
Other things i dont like about apple:
iPhone and iPods and their cult like status. The Macbook Air having half the components of a normal macbook but costs half as much more than a macbook.
I cant fucking stand steve jobs, his whole 'hi, you love me, and any product i show you, you will therefor love as well' charisma reality distortion field crap.
Apple takes an existing idea, slaps the bitten apple logo on it, steve jobs says its revolutionary and they call it a day.
The best ever though, was when steve jobs bashed the rio karma mp3 player for having a small screen and tortured UI. Right after that, he unveiled an mp3 player with no display and no UI. And the minions rejoiced.
Point is, apple should be given credit where its due on the things they obviously do right. A lot of times they do, a lot of times they dont. Simple as that. Very few companys out there do everything that is what the consumer wants. Mind you, not all consumers want the same thing.
OS X, Mac Pros, the latest iPod Classics and Nanos, the MacBooks and Pros, are fairly priced and great products on their own, despite having a slightly higher pricetag.
The iPhone, the iPod Touch, that stupid boombox, the MacBook Air, iPod Shuffle......all crap.
As for PCs, ive nothing against them, the hardware is amazing. Its only bottleneck is windows (especially vista, what a disappointment).
