That may be true, but sometimes DJs hit a sweet spot in their careers. Everything lines up, what they are into, what the masses are diggin, and what producers are putting out.

well said.

Marco Carola has been a good DJ for -years-. I wouldn't go so far as to say his current "sound" (approach/style are probably better words) is "new"/"recent" (for him).

I'm simply stating that this guy deserves a lot more credit (and attention) than simply the last 6 months of his career.

BTW - what did you have for lunch?

His style is quite new though...I don't find many DJs playing the blend of tech and house that he is playing either. He never ventures into that grimy house sound that I hate, it's all very deep and groovy.

I've been a fan for a long time, both for his old style and his new.

I won't miss his next return to TO.

Graham, that Bucharest set is dead on. Thanks for the heads up. He loops and warps Let's Go Outside's "I'll lick your spine" (accapella?) over another creepy track, it's pretty much the best thing I've ever heard. (around the 2h33mark)

It seems the Marco Carola train left without me.

I'll hafta DL those sets and have another round at trying to foster the same level of appreciation for this man and his music that many seem to hold themselves!

Let's do it.

He's just as good now as he was years ago when he played FTWK Wednesdays.
