No, you're not the only one. There are plenty of NYTAs who started out, like I did, as Armin and PvD whores, but who no longer follow trance as much.
Armin used to be my #1 DJ and absolute favorite. Now I mostly listen to minimal and techno.
I'm doing my best not to become a minimal snob though. I've seen that happen to quite a few people. I like minimal/techno but I don't bash the other genres because all of it can be criticized.
Trance is too formulaic and lacks substance.
Electro is too Kitschy.
Minimal is pretentious; fashion > function.
Techno is too dismal and depressing.
etc, etc..
I take trance in small doses now. It's fun music, but not challenging enough for me to be into like I used to..
I still listen to trance. Well, again. I lost a couple of years cause I somehow started to listen to cheesy dance, and last year, jumpstyle. But since the beginning of this year I'm more into trance again, and I missed it

I moved onto progressive, dnb, breaks, and everything a while ago. If I listen to trance, it's most likely progressive trance. None of the Ministry of Sound stuff. Hardly listen to state of trance anymore.

I still listen to trance because I am still a moody bitch (always have been). But if I listen to stuff like Enya I'll fall asleep. So I need an aesthetically pleasing melody with rhythm to keep me moving. Trance does the trick.
