You know, I was around the days before emos and goths. They were just called alternative and oy and I can't remember the other one. They are looking back at themselves today laughing their asses off they ever looked like that. Everyone cleans up eventually, no matter how much they say they refuse to conform today.
I understand, they want to look different. We all did as teens.
On a side note, summer of 06, we had our company picnic at Ontario place, and at about 5pm, people were starting to come in for the nine inch nails concert at the Molson Amphitheatre. Guess what? No matter how much they say they look to be different. That night, they all looked the same to me (except for the weird dude with the corset, vinyl skirt, fishnets and platform boots and had jar lids expanding his earlobes to look like huge calimari rings).
