I'm fairly new to the whole scene. I've been into it for about 2 or 3 years, but haven't made it to a lot of shows for various reasons. Since I'm living here full time now, I've been to a lot lately. I have two that stand in my mind as the best shows:

Paul van Dyk at the Tabernacle 2007. Just thought he played an awesome set. It was better than the one at 1150 the year before, even thogh that one was great two.

I also really enjoyed Above and Beyond last year at Opera. It was strange that the turnout was so small, but I loved their set and they were really into it.

Smoking ..umm..something

I'd have to say Hernan Cattaneo at E50 in '05. That set me sealed my love for prog music. It literally was like a sermon on the mount from a mind that truly understands how to fuse complex melodic swells with soaring riffs and thick, sexy, phatt fuking bass.

But, runner up would have to be ANY Sunday Morning Church session with Brett Long at Backstreet during the summer of '02. Those mornings took partying to an entirely different level of mind fucking evolution. We had our own cavern in space at those parties and anyone that was there took PLUR straight into orbit.... in fact, i'm pretty sure that there's a piece of me still floating around up there because of those parties

I would have to say PvD in '05 in terms of best set. I had a lot of fun at the Armin set that year with Ted. That was just a lot of fun.

Yes, on second thought, I'm moving Backstreet to #1 and Hernan to runner up. I have to say that Backstreet honestly changed who I am and forever set the scene, in my head, of what a real EDM party is about. Peace Love Unity and Respect. That's what we had and that's what we celebrated. Under the 3-D glowing sun, lightening bolts, and the 360 degree spinning spotlights amidst a sea of lasers and mirrors... We all came together and danced

I sure did! I've always loved that term. It's a cultural thing, if you were ever a part of it... The world needs more peace love unity and respect...

But, I know you and your utter disdain for all things PLUR related
