In my opinion, J00F and the Digital Blonde are the best producers in the scene. Like some of the others in this thread, I am not a huge fan of the Psy Trance scene - all of the parties I have been to have been full of what to me sounded very very generic. A lot of it seems to me like music that was trying desperatly not no be regular trance, but i doing this it only generates to its own formulas. It kind of trys to be intelligent for the sake of being intellegent, and lacks in substance (this is all just my opinion, and I am aware that there are many psy producers which this does not apply to atall).
I find that the J00F/digital blonde take on things does bridge the gap between psy and regular trance, and for me maintains the best elements of each. I only wish that more people made this kind of stuff, because as a previous poster said, there is a lot of musical ground to be covered.
However, I also think that 0.0DB do actually have their own formula. I dont think this is such a bad thing, because the style is new and I like the sounds, but I still think that there is room for some variation in their productions. They could do with trying a few slower paced tracks, maybe using vocals more (I think that some of John's old vocal remixes have came off really well). A vocal ballad kind of tune in the 0.0DB style could be amazing! I think opinions of the Digital Blonde's remix of 'lost in you' are unanimously good!
The other thing is that I think as much as everyone loves the J00F and DB tunes, most peoples favourite of all would still be the original mix of Legato. I think a few more regular trance masterpieces like this are what the scene really needs at the moment!
Just my thoughts anyway; I cant wait for the psy trance euphoria CD to be released, and I loved 0.0DB at gatecrasher (don't think they could have done much more than an hour though!)
