Hmm. One thing that really bugs me, which I've only noticed recently, is that most trance tunes have kick drums in them. What's more, most of the time they're playing a steady 4/4 beat. Seriously, check out some of your favourite trance tunes, a lot of them have this cliche throughout most of the tune!

Whenever that kick comes in, I'm always like clap-clap "yayyy, way to be original, mr producer man" clap-clap-clap.

If you didn't have a bridge like that, then how would you get that awesome build up that makes the crowd go crazy?

Anyone has the right to criticise things as entertainment, art etc. without having to do better themselves.

I think its about freeking time someone said it. 90% of whats coming out now is recycled bullshit, that will be forgotten in 3 months.

+1. Most modern stuff is fucking shite.

+1

And then I'll sign it to Warner Bros records... and make sure it's in every single movie released in 2009... get it played in every clothing store at the mall, and get a kenny-g remix to play in your building's elevator.

1. Freaking guitar with distortion.. it's been overused for DECADES! Let's get original and start using things like the V-accordion or the glockenspiel.

2. Acoustic drums are getting OLD! The same snare, the same toms, I can't stand it anymore.

3. Intro - verse - chorus - verse - chorus - bridge - chorus - outro. The same old patter over and over. For once I'd like to hear a song with only a bridge. That's it, just a bridge.

I think you get my point. If there's only one thing to ask, it's be for some of those hard hitting melodies that give you chills. Haven't heard one of those in a while. Spot on with the fake guitar thing, though.

LMAO!!

I knew I was posting an asinine rantbut many understood what I meant - e.g. It would really be awesome to hear something that blows you away, no?

I know music is formulaic for the most part - but somewhere along the line someone somewhere invented the formula. Someone took it further and perfected it. How's this: name any band before the Beatles that sounded anything like it? Or speaking of Pink Floyd - name any band before OR after them that sounded like it? (not counting former pink floyd members)

So, what you're saying is that originality is overrated, cannot be achieved and must not be strived for?

Pink floyd used guitars, synths, drums, etc. but they didn't follow same old beaten formula - take "Shine on you crazy diamond" - a song that breaks so many "rock" barriers, it's not even funny! At one point it even goes into waltz tempo signature!!!! So, It would be nice to witness it again, IMHO.

There's plenty of acoustic territory left unexplored and I think that someone may stumble on it only if they take the road less traveled.

Oh, and i did clearly state that im a tallentless hack that hasnt produced anything - therefore you can be sure my opinion is unbiased
