well me, amongst others. there are inherent human rights, that arent granted you by the law of the land, your culture, or your parliament. you are born with them, and they dont change if you go to a different country.

culture is merely the social manifestation of an idea(s). not all ideas are equal.

if we cant use reason to ascertain what is really wrong or right, then how can you even begin to argue there are wrongs and rights within cultures?

some of the things you see occur in nations, like the execution of rape victims, or punishment for mingling with the opposite sex are not wrong according to pkcRAISTLIN, they are wrong according to the rights these people were born with.

the "you cant judge another culture" idea is politically correct nonsense espoused by people that put the idea of universal human rights in the "too hard basket" and these people can go suck on my wang coz they'll never bring change to any person/culture that badly needs it.

yes but people know they're role there.. and they know better. You cant just go and change the rules. Like here in canada we can do whatever we want and smoke as much pot as we want and not care about repercussions so much.. But once we go to the States we have to be much more weary since they're laws are much more agressive towards that kind of thing.


Its like me going over to saudi arabia and rambling on about evolution. I know better not to do that, and if i did im prepared for the consequences because i know.

Now as for not being a citizen and being persecuted, thats a totally different ball game.

Of course you can change the rules. In West Hollywood there's practically pot available in all the pharmacies. Just need doctors prescription. It's really easy to get. The Feds raided the pharmacies last year, but after they left, they put the pot right back up. This is just an example of areas concentrated with people who hold ideas counter to the main culture group together and make change. I think in LA overall more people smoke pot than cigs.

Just don't go to middle America. That's where they'll jail you. I know a friend who spent the night in jail because he drove through Utah while smoking a CIGARETTE and had no idea it was illegal if you are under 19. He was 18.

They show muslims as violent people. The reaction was: violent.

Yes, I know not all muslims are like that, but it hit the nail on the head.

What do you mean you are born with rights? You aren't born with anything but instincts. Your environment and the way your brain reacts to the environment is what constantly affects your opinions.

There are always individual rights and wrongs (opinions like I said above), and most of the time the majority opinion is what the "rights and wrongs" of the culture are.

They muslims in Copenhagen/Aarhus have been going apeshit about this, ever since it got printed again. These last few days they have been burning cars, buildings, throwing rocks, bottles etc. Police are currently all over town, just waiting for them to strike again. Innocent people are getting their cars burnt, and are afraid to go out on the streets at night.

Born with rights, it's pretty simple...when you are born you have the right to certain things, for example to be cared for until you are old enough to fend for yourself.

I'd still like to hear why you don't think there are any worldwide right and wrongs.
