Har!
You're a northie, anything south of Leeds is likely to be as much a confabulation to you as Africa.

south west is like visiting that old relative who keeps biscuits they make u eat that are soft, soggy etc. Nice to see once in a while, but anymore than that and it's just not good.

Actually its still much how I feel about most of England. Cold, wet and cramped after you get over the green fields, quaint old fashioned architecture and funny accents every 10miles.
You sort of come to a "oh my god, it's full of chavs" in this 2001 Space Odyssey moment where the astronaut goes for a look, except its not a big black monolith in space, but a tenement block

edit- as opposed to Australia, which is just mostly hot, doesn't rain much, full of lots of nothing and things that bite.

Hmmm, I had that realisation a few years ago too.

I remember thinking that Britain was all cucumber sandwiches, polo and corgis (not literally, idiots), then realising they have even more bogans than we do.

Soccer hooligans!

Im in Hull at the moment at Uni (30 miles from the epicenter). Bed started shaking quite hard and the noise was quite scary. I know 5.3 seems nothing to guys near a fault line but i've never been in an earthquake.

I told my friend to get dressed and we came out of the dorm room, some people thought that one of the oil refineries near by had exploded. Did anyone else in the UK feel it?

yes. Me, Az, Ste, Simon & Jamie did for sure, since I've seen them mention it (in jamies case) or spoken to them online for the rest. We're all from sheffield down in a straight line, I'm south west of nottingham by 25 miles so about 60 miles from the actual thing in lincs. I used to live much nearer though (about 20 miles) from the epicentre and had family even closer in Lincolnshire, but they're now deceased. It was fun for sure.
