I just ordered a ticket for BeB!! Going from Toronto to Ottawa ( my fam lives in ottawa so were driving from there).. it cost me $95.50 after all was said in done.. still a damn good deal!
The prices of the $12 flights were very limited and the times were quite ackward, but i managed to work it out. The next cheapest one is $39/ticket - which is still a good deal

Taxes are different because canadians are used to paying more and they do! We also have more socialist programs to pay for and the money has to come from somewhere. Buffalo is a very small airport so in reality they should be charging more per passenger on average.
What drives down airfares there is more competition, and lower taxes. If Canada dropped its protectionism and allowed for foreign competition, we'd see airfares fall quickly. An added incentive would be lower domestic fare taxes to start. Perhaps Pearson should also lower its fees to airlines? Right now we are the #1 most expensive airport in the world to land at.
All i know is that i wont pay pearson fees and that i take my business elsewhere.
