I thought that the consensus was that they were cheaper versions of the Ecler/A&H products?

the Korg stuff offers a lot for the money (great bang for the buck), but I wouldnt put them up there with Ecler, A&H or Rane as a real, solid professional piece of gear. Not something you would see installed at a club.

I had never heard of them making DJ mixers until the Zero 4 and 8. Anyone know if they've tried this market before?

The Zero 8 has a lot of studio-like features on it.

Still, if you're going for Ableton, I'd wait for the Vestax VCM-600 controller. They just updated the design a little bit from the original NAMM announcement of it, added clip triggers per channel and such.

Looks sweet! The layout is designed with Ableton in mind, not some generic approximation:

Have you played with the KORG ZERO's? They just feel like a toy to me. You're paying for all the flashy lights and extra features of the mixer, but not the quality. It just feels very fragile, and it doesnt look like it would take the abuse like a more serious mixer.

Again, for the price (which is GREAT), it has TONS of good features, and is more than perfectly fine for someone using it at home or in a studio. Its just not something I would take on the road or install in a club for heavy use.
