use this and hunt down the bastard and make an example out of him!
Odds are if he was smart he wasn't going to use his home IP.
It's not that hard to change your IP or use someone elses IP for that matter....

there is a way you can traceroute the address and pinpoint the location.. anything is possible.. ghosting your ip will hide you but it still won't hide your location and ISP.. soo ,, once the ISP is figured out .. then the person can be tracked.. Not if you set everything up and do everything on a public environment aka Library or something like that.

this kind of thing can be debated forever!!! all i am saying is there is a way to find the location where the IP is coming from.. If the person used the library I doubt the library servers would allow for ip ghosting.. I mean,, if this is ur typical scammer he wouldn't have MAD hacking skills.. Although if he is using wireless it would be even harder to locate him..
if this happend to me, i would def look more into it..

You could try, but honestly, you won't get anywhere. I deal with this stuff everyday. Nothing happens.
The only thing you could do maybe do is find his address and take matters into your own hands...but you won't get your money back.
If giving him a good beating will make you feel better, then go ahead...but even tracking down his address will be kind of difficult to do.
