yeah man i tried all of that and nothing. im almost afraid that my usb ports are shot. i did have a power surge and after the surge thats when my usb when whacked. my computer dtects theyre there. theres no driver problems however, when i plug any device in there it malfunctions and says unknown device

When I used to do customer support at Compaq years ago, I wanted to c0ck-punch myself when a customer saves a punchline like that until the very end after troubleshooting for an hour with him.
