And yes, as you said yourself, that track sounds more Bennison than Gareth Emery.
musically it had more of a bennison vibe but the production was unmistakably emery, and far preferable to what bennison normally comes out with in that respect (imho). was a very well suited collaboration, shame they couldn't have worked together on a more regular basis (eg. like 00db)

IMO compared to Bennisons other productions and remixes that track was pretty weak. Tracks such as Revention, Slidestream, Absorb, Archetype are all real corkers. And not to forget his cracking remix of Endalexia.
Bennison have had excellent collaborations with Micah, Christopher Lawrence and Descent in the past. I would like to see him join forces with The Digital Blonde. They both have that nice raw sound and doesn't compromise.
+1 to absorb & endelexia, will have to check the others out.
it's the technical element of interlok i like; the mixdown seems better than bennison's other stuff, with a tougher kick/bass, cleaner perc & an overall fuller sound which is obviously GTR's doing
i don't mind the raw sound in itself, as such.. but it makes tracks harder to incorporate into sets without sounding out of place. i last played out in january & dropped the digital blonde - mandeliva in the middle of my set & almost completely lost the floor, cos the kick just wasn't there in comparision to the tracks before it.. and that's one of his better produced tracks; i much prefer moonflux's melody but that sounds terribly muddy & has barely any drive to it at all

yeah I know what you mean. I love most of Digital Blondes productions but they are indeed difficult to incorporate in a modern day set mainly because the trance of today have weaker kick. That's why it sounds out of place. I used Moonflux in the mix in my sig and it worked pretty well. But I've noticed that his productions works much better if you mix it with older trance tracks. Back then alot of producer used a tougher kick.
i was reading this thread tryna work out my thoughts on gtr.
and i then read the word compromise and it think thats the case with gareth. his tunes/remixes/sound to me is the sound of a guy who knows better in himself but is compromising to reach the 'gatecrasher/godskit chen/armada/semi mainstream/whatever' audience to sell rekkids and make a bit of a name for himself.
and fair enough i guess - guys gotta make a living
(but the 95% of trance prosuced today is crap tag kinda made it all wierd)
id just love to see him start a new moniKer that he uses to release the occasional totally mad shit with

Very good I must say. Would be hard to believe once seeing those names together but both must be credited for that EP.

Out of his recent stuff, I really like his remix of Solid State but I have no info on a release for that remix.
Like most have said, his productions are rather bland and his attempt at electro/prog/trance is shiet.

Just saw this guy live last night...when he came down to spin here in Singapore ... n I must say it wasnt all that bad...droppped a 4 hour set ...must say his crowd interaction was pretty good !! ...n tracks like Formentera What and Another You, Another Me set the dancefloor on fire ....
Infact I saw M.I.K.E. just the night before ...n even though they hav completely different styles ... I just cant stop comparing them... M.I.K.E.'s gig was so much better ..he is in a class of his own IMO
