i believe the older ones were meh for taking videos in clubs and also they limited the amt of video time, Drews actually hasnt experienced the sound distortion problem wtih his sd870IS and right now its just about up to SONYs capabilities

I understand. Though you can take snapshots from the videos you take with the software that comes with it. It's easy.

I am also a very proud Panasonic Lumix user as well. 2 years ago I was doing the same thing you are doing, purchasing a video camera for club use. 6 months ago I upgraded to a Sony cybershot, thinking technology has changed, and heard that the Sonys had the best video quality. I used it once at Pacha, and was very dissatisfied, and went back to using my 2 year old panasonic. A few things I notice between the quality of the two are: the panasonic video were much clearer, as the sony videos were much grainer. The panasonic had a better image stabler, which reduced the video from shaking as much. The sony video was extremely shakey and made me dizzy. The pansonic has a larger lens then the Sony allowing my light into the camera which is import while shoot in low light situation. Not to mention. The panasonics are cheaper than the sony, just because Sonys cost more does not mean your getting a better camera. You really should get a panasonic, and make sure you get at least a 2gb memory card as well.
