Oh, I've known about Earth Hour for quite some time. But, your original link [still] doesn't work.

Off topic: Do you have a passport?

Idiot, what could you possibly turn on to entertain yourself in the dark that you didnt have on with the lights running?

one of the biggest fallacies of the whole 'green' movement is the fact that a lot of green materials, products, buildings, procedures, etc actually waste more net energy in their creation and the creation of the production network that allows for their existence. sustainability is a concept which needs to be applied at every level, from the ground up.

The "green" thing to do is not to buy "green" products, but just to buy less stuff altogether.

Not if we change our energy source. Denmark, for example, can make anything they want... all their electricity comes from wind power.

so lame!. i woke up, go to google and its all dark and talking about earth hour, and i'm like, wtf it's 8am, i don't have any lights on right now anyway

whatever, they're going to make up some fake "statistic" about if you turn your lights off for just one hour a day you'll save like 20943587203948572039485720934857209348752 billions of energy or whatever.

its like they're acting as if we have our power running 24/7 . i mean, seriously, i don't even turn my lights on until the sun has completely set, otherwise shades and blinds are open and natural light/heat is coming in.

Yes, yes it does. Maybe not in the country you live, but it works here. Try using a U.S. proxy and getting to it.

Half true. Buying green products is good, but buying less is also good.

What is your definition of a lot? Also, where are you getting this from? Another one of the easy things to say without backing up.

music preference really has (or at least, shouldn't have) no impact on how my electricity flows.

i'd say my blacklights use less light than incandescent bulbs, but i don't even have any incandescent bulbs in my house cause they're all that compact flourescent swirly bulb thingy. that, and i really don't know if the blacklights are like normal flourescent bulbs, cause they do put off a fair amount of heat.

my electric bill was $25.85 last month. for a 1200 sq ft house.

EAT THAT AL GORE

I don't think it's the car companies that are the problem...
