its fucking stupid. its a game.

In The Getaway, your guy would limp and run slower if he was severely hurt, though I see your point. Keep the health bar I say, but don't let that bitch recharge unless you got yourself a medkit or something.

Not quite. The green bar in the hud was your bio-electric reserves. The health system was a diagram of a body where individual body parts had their own hit points and could be damaged independantly. For instance you could have both legs severely damaged and as a result you'd have to crawl until you found a medkit. You could also use the medkits to heal specific wounds - for example, prioritizing a wound to your leg over a wound to your arm.

Ahhh yes, how could I forget. Deus Ex, considering it IS one of the best video games ever made, introduced some mindblowing stuff, and its unique health system is no exception. Makes me wanna reinstall that ****** right now.

To be honest... I'll work out whether the games I'm looking at are any good (or get recomendations) from (online) friends. Then go look at gamespot for a really in depth review that won't say anything bad about it.

It's better then going to one of those cynical places and hearing a review that critizises everything and then getting pissed off by small things.

Also PCPP has seriously gone downhill in the last 6 months. Seriously they gave vanilla m2tw a 10!!! I guess they somehow failed to notice the very samey factions... limited replayability (not terribly good gameplay either) and MAJOR GAME UNBALANCING bug. I mean it's certainly no Crysis/half life 2 (I'd give it an 8 on first impressions maybe 7 after time). I bet they didn't even touch EU3 (bad ai is ok... until you play a game with good AI... total war battles [at least with mods like RTR on Ntw2 [[eb was shit]] are great though).

as long as PCPP has been around, they've been the uglier, dumber and less accurate cousin of PC gamer. that's just how it is. you're young, i dont expect you to know.
