Lately I haven't heard any really great scores but the I am legend score by James Newton Howard is alright.

There are millions of such threads, so for one more time i'll state:

Clint Mansell -"Requiem For A Dream"

Clint Mansell - "The Fountain" (One of the best soundtracks ever. It received numerous awards.Seriously listen

here is an tune from that album with pictures from the movie:

Clint Mansell- "Stay With Me"

(great movie a well. Very deep with existential questions about mortality and stuff.)

Mark Isham - "Crash" (amazing dark ambient soundtrack for this amazing film)

and one amazing piece from the album:

Mark Isham- "Sense of Touch"

Jonny Greenwood- "There Will Be Blood" (neo-classical masterpiece by Radiohead's quitarist/multi-instrumentalist. There is something twisted and haunting about the soundtrack. I love the moments where the haunting chords would increase in sound accompanying some "silent" scenes in which there was no acting or talking but just an expression or a photography of the scenery, filling the moment with tension. Great atmosphere, kinda expressionistic and it brought in mind some Tarkovsky moments. Great provoking film.)

Jonny Greenwood - "Prospectors Quartet"

Ennio Morricone- "The Mission"

(I can't remember the film but i remember this a-m-a-z-i-n-g anthemic piece! )

Ennio Morricone- "On Earth As It Is In Heaven"

ofcourse everything by Vangelis etc...

We seem to be talking about both scores and soundtracks interchangably, so I'll re-affirm my love for Ennio Morricone. I saw Once Upon A Time in America last week, and what a score he composed for that film. Stunning.

Yeah i always use them interchangeably, so everything i posted were scores not soundtracks.

Anyway, Ennio Morricone FTW. Check out the tune i posted.
