Well it's a very famous track in clubbing circles, but it's never made the Top 40 in the UK and I severely doubt it has in many other places either. You could call the creators of lots of classics (Phuture, Joey Beltram, Cybotron, Mr Fingers, etc.) "mainstream" because they have one widely-known track, even if they've never made any money and the vast majority of people wouldn't know anything by them.

Yes, that's what I meant by mainstream - in the sense of those who are in the scene. Perhaps it was a bit misleading.

Or just too much time with Sketchy Steve before every Mills show you've been to?

Terrific. So you've been listening to poorly mixed music a long time then?

Mills is awful. His "insane style" is poorly programmed, badly mixed, Detroit techno. Hooray for you if you like it, but I don't particularly care to hear a horse running through the club every 5 to 10 minutes.

I guess I can get that you enjoyed it, but it isn't as if I had seen him once and instantly wrote him off based on a single experience.

Which is, I guess, the only reason I'm utterly shocked to see people champion him as some amazing talent, because I didn't think such divergent views possible.

people must remember that he mixes on 3 and 4 decks most of the time and unlike certain djs, he doesn't have 8 minutes to sit there and match. granted he could slow down a little, but to say he has never had a good mix is ridiculous and shows that you have hardly ever listened to him. i mean think of all the times you have heard trance djs clang. i couldn't imagine what they would sound like playing songs that are 3 minutes long.

I couldn't possibly care less about any of that. He could play on a million decks at once and if it sounds like shit, what is the point?

+1

Or get a laptop if you want to play 6 tracks at the same time already...
