Yeah there is. Destiny puts on a few a year and there are also regular events at Blak. I'm pretty sure goodfellaz is probably still throws a party or two. There are also lots of other smaller parties that happen that feature the rave generes and the all ages thing. I'm not tooin touch with these events, but I'd say your best bet in locating them is on purerave.com

Raves happen still, but not every weekend.

I don't really consider the parties at Blak, Big Bop, etc. to really be raves because they are in clubs...though they are pretty close.

If you're looking for information about raves this isn't the best place. But, I can tell you where some better places are if you like

There are generally more raves in the summer because the weather is warmer so you don't freeze your ass off in a non-heated "venue".

Why must I go over this yet again.

I didn't see you at said raves I've been to in the past year so I'm guessing you didn't know about them...hence the fact you'd think they are totally dead.

In the past year I've:

raved in an abandoned warehouse
raved under a bridge
raved in a photography studio
raved in the woods
raved in an old study hall

raved with green eggs and ham

I think last summer alone there were about 4 or 5 raves that I went to and a few that I had to miss.

yea Ive heard about some of those "parties"...

If you wanted to experience what a REAL rave was like is IF you were around the days when CHRIS SHEPPARD et al spun at huge warehouse type venues with over 1000 partiers whilst the cealing was raining from sweat because it was over 120 degrees inside...Full out loud souns systems and lights AND that tickets were like $50 or so to get in...and last but not least it was a TOTALLY different atmosphere and experience then the "parties" you listed...I'll even go as far as saying that the older WEMF parties were "raves"...

imo real raves are generally free because they are usually illegal...like the parties in the early 90s. Do you not consider the raves of the early 90s to be REAL raves then? Rarely did people pay much for them and usually they were break and enters. And apparently, the ravers of the early 90s complained about the commercial raves (ie 1000 people at $50 per ticket) of the mid 90s and claimed they weren't true raves because they were too commercial.

Some really really old school ravers have argued that if you have to pay for a rave then it isn't a true rave (I've read about this on super old archived message boards). By paying for it you are automatically excluding people who can't afford when true raves are supposed to be about inclusion not exclusion.

What's really important though is not if there are 1000+ people there and you pay tons of money. What's important is if you've felt a true rave vibe. That can be done for free.

You're kidding right? So you're saying "real" raves were parties with over 1,000 people in a really hot and cramped environment where you had to pay a lot of money to get in? If you're actually serious about what you said, then you really have no idea of what REAL raves are all about.

True raves are free, or close to it and they can happen anywhere, anytime. A real rave is not just a party but an experience.

With a true rave it also doesn't matter how many people show up, whether it's 10 people or 10,000.

As to answer the original question, yes raves still do go on in Toronto, but the rave scene is fairly underground nowaways and it's quite small.
