Nice reminder, I had completely forgotten about how dependent in electricity we are (a sign that I take it for granted).

Which takes us to another problem... for how long could we survive under those conditions? Even if you spared your energy?

Well people survived before we had all those nice things, so it really just depends on how well the individual adapts. It should (fortunately) be possible to access literature on survival skills, so you should be able to learn what you need.

Still, a lot of things can go wrong, and don't expect any quality medical care (obviously) so I'd guesstimate you can dock about 20 or so years from your life expectancy.

And my birthday is in my profile, n00bs.

well... i'm pretty sure humans made it this far

i'd go live near the ocean. that way you can catch fish. fruit trees wouldn't be too hard to find, so you'd be ok in that department.

how long does a can of tuna last, btw?

About to start law school, too dispassionately rational to be really young. Figured 24ish sounded about right.

Yeah, but, humans have always lived in groups.

I thought you were a year younger than me, not just a week (and a half)

edit: I wonder who else was born in January 1983. I know you and Haak were born on the same day and... yeah, just that

i wonder what would happen psychologically. would you devolve into some kind of retard being? obviously speech would be the first to go, in the absence of a wilson to talk to...

I doubt that speech would disappear. You would probably start talking to yourself, or at least I think I would. Plus you could watch as many movies as you wanted, giving those speech-processing parts of the brain some exercise...
