i'm sure for many that's true BUT last time i checked 50cent moved out of "the hood" long time ago....we can talk shit all we want about their image and attitude but some of these guys (including 50 cent) are loooaded and have become smart ass businessmen

I'm not including 50cent in the comment, he is an actor, a manufactured gangster, infact many of these prototypes are educated, many in the arts.

Look at eurodance for instance, grab a gorgeous girl from the village, throw some furry boots, pink booty shorts and pink bra, teach her a few words in english , jazz up those words with voice manipulation in the studio and a nice cliche beat and you've got a worldwide hit.

And behind every successful company, label, clothing line from da hood and you can find a middle aged white man as the major share holder or owner of a parent company never advertised with the urban line.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. You're underestimating these guys..including 50 cent..plus take a look at P Diddy,Timbaland, Jay-z, Dr/ Dre..etc..these guys run their own labels, taking a cut from the artists they sign..if they didn't have that business mentality they wouldn't have created such big entertainment empires of their own...i'm sure they have a lot of ppl behind them, helping them make certain business decisions (as a lot of successful ppl do)but these guys know how to run their shit, they're smart entrepreneurs
