Has anyone tried this? Maybe even firing up a club at an earlier time. Like 9pm or something. Starting with the more commercial, house/electro, prog, dipping into some trance, etc.
Another thing that puts some people off, me being one of them, is needing to be awake until 5am to hear a good trance set. By the time I can actually hear something good and the night is pumping I am ready for bed and over it. Yes Yes I am an old man, but I have been there done that. |
hardware does it frequently-- with julian reynolds opening main room with i guess electro-housey stuff: but it doesn't take till 5am for the trance to kick in thank ye godz...
in my experience breakdowns are not suited to a club where people are drinking: trance is a different type of music entirely to house/commercial dance, that's why the people who go to hear pop music with a beat don't like trance-- it has substance; the song is a journey, not just a catchy ring-tone sound played 50 times, with a boring beat...
that's why trance isn't that popular in clubs: people don't wanna hear a 4 minute onova breakdown when they're just doing shots at a bar, when it takes some level of appreciation to enjoy the music... they just want thumping sounds they know... cheeeeese is all clubs are-- that's why events are good and clubs are shit.
1 am post-out posts are long...
