It's taken until relatively recently for me to realize that I in fact feel this exact same way about most people, especially female friends.
Genuine attraction is an oddly rare thing for me - it tends to take time and personal exploration for me to actually like someone on an individual level.
But don't take this as me saying you're normal - I'm usually a pretty poor basis of comparison when it comes to social relationships and normality.
But I suppose I do very much identify with your situation in that I have had exact experiences to relate with. That said, I also posess female acquaintances who are quite attractive as well as those who most certainly are not. Funny thing about the world is that there's really nobody who is universally un-attractive... I mean outside of TA, of course. Like, there is always somebody for someone out there - I'm not talking about that lofty bullshit called love - I mean sex and attraction. Perhaps it all too often resorts to merely settling for someone's poor physical condition or just plain hideous looks... we'd all like to think we never have to settle, but fuck if it seems like a whole lot of people end up doing just that.
I can recall a few people I was somewhat repulsed with or irritated by upon first impression whom I warmed up to over time. Sometimes exposure is all it takes. But sometimes not. I would recommend getting to know her as well as you are comfortable with - give her a chance if you think there may be something there by your acknowledgment of her attraction to you. You may be totally wrong. I know I have been before. But you may very well be right, too - what's most important is trusting your own feelings, keeping an open mind and accepting people for who they are. If all else fails, string her heart along for a while so she can buy you food and drugs, then beat the shit out of her just for the fun of it. Ahh, the human heart.
