And yes, British (English really, but anyway) dominance is undisputed in Europe right now. It's a constant ebb and flow between Spain (Real Madrid Vs. Valencia in the 1999/2000 finals), Italy (Milan Vs. Juventus in the 2002/2003 finals), and sometimes Germany (Bayern Munich and Bayer Lervekusen in 2000/2001 and 2001/2002, respectively), but this will now be 5 English teams in the past 4 finals. |
it took a long time for the british clubs to learn how to play the modern european game, and Liverpool have obviously been the best exponents of it in recent years. In the 90s especially, many teams could not play the correct way and as such, suffered because of it.
