So you guys are defining "beat" as a measured, rhythmical time signature, rather than the actual noise of "a beat" itself?
I define "beat" as a short, sharp percussive sound - not necessarily in a syncopated pattern, though usually.
By the first definition there are very few "beatless" tracks.
By the second definition there are hundreds of thousands.
