geez, stereohead, its 1234.
Its a top40 club, the upper room has always been hiphop, always.
I honnestly don't give a shit if the crowd is young or old, actually i prefer the younger more energetic crowd, they are fun to watch go at it. This Friday, the crowd was very old, other than the center and front crowd. The older crowd were just checking whats happening, spectators.
I'm now 29 and can't snob the young crowd like you do because I would shut myself from every club and afterhours in town except Le Club Select a Laval
If I go out to these clubs, I'll go with my buddies and make my own party and have fun.
And no its not all about the music, its just an ingredient to make a good party, but not essential.
The essential ingredient is what you have in between your two ears and your attitude.

miss stereohead, how can you start rating the night if you only listened to two of his gigs wtf honestly wow ! Be the change was the 2nd track he played, and i dont think we saw the same king of people inside or where you were sticking in ! And what's the point of talking about the dj playing inthe vip rom lol.... wow. Anyways, ive only got great feedback about this night, and i know that some of our staff people are arrogant with poeple sometime, but they are like that with the big heads or arrogant people also. They just dont give shit to people for nothing, they do try their best. |
1) i didn't listen to 2 of his gigs? you mean tracks? oh, you don't speak english properly? and u're a promoter? nice one...anyways, i can rate the night based on my being there for about an hour and a half. i can judge THAT 1.5 hours. if you noticed, i asked how the rest of the night was. i'm judging the time i was there, no more.
2) i guess we didn't see the same people but it's rather funny that the DJ himself expressed his thoughts on how young the crowd was. maybe not to you personally, but...i'll stop here
3) explain why there's no point of talking about the DJ in the VIP room. yes, he happens to be my boyfriend, for sure i'll mention him; get over it people, everyone always uses this as a blast to my identity. but besides that, let's focus: he was booked and told by event organizers to play HOUSE MUSIC from 10pm til 1230am, then people talk shit about him cuz he didn't play hiphop? then you know what? find a DJ that will cater to what it is the club is looking for. i told him NOT to take that gig; he knows now he should have listened.
4) u said it yourself: you know your staff is arrogant. if doing their best is what they did for ned and i, they need to do some work. man, i thought some of tribe's bouncers were classless; 1234 is a whole new level.

2) You gotta understand kids asking for guetta & hiphop The vip section is usually hip-hop top40 And im sure maher knew that when he started to play |
1) exactly! it's 3 years later...don't you wanna hear something new? no, apparently not for the children...cuz it's all they care to know about. i guess this particular issue is indeed a matter of opinion: you think it's ok and i don't. point final.
2) again i talked about this in a previous post, it's too bad the EVENT ORGANIZERS chose maher to play (knowing damn well what he plays) and told him to play house music for 2.5 hours. so no louis, don't be so damn sure of yourself. he did not know he was supposed to play hiphop. the people who hired him to play told him nothing of the sort. do u really think he'd have taken the gig if he was required and told b4hand to play hiphop? come on! maher does not have ANY hiphop in his DJ case and he never will. neither of us ever go to 1234; the last time i was there was for fred everything and mark farina like a loooooooooong time ago. how can we know what it usually played in the VIP room at 1234 when we never go? it's not the DJ's job to do his research on the venue he's booked at to play. it's the job of the organizers and the ppl who hired him to know who they're hiring and what will come of it. if they thought he was suitable, it's certainly not our fault.

3) The essential ingredient is what you have in between your two ears and your attitude. |
1) it's snub, not snob i dunno what clubs you know of but i would assume you know many. But the places i go to (mainly stereo and cherry) usually do not have a retarded young crowd. the crowds at these 2 clubs in particular are more grounded, less stupid and they get fucked, for sure...that's a part of club life. but, they CONTROL themselves. i just cannot stand that young, e-tarded crowd.
2) music isn't essential for a party? dude, music is essential for LIFE. again, a matter of opinion...but no, i think it's fact. if there was no music playing at parties, what would happen? the party would stop. there would be no dancing, booze sales would decrease exponentially and there would be no clubbing scene altogether. now tell me again that music is not essential.
3) i dunno if you're trying to subtlely aim that towards me, but what i have in between my ears is working just fine, thanks. and my attitude? well, it certainly doesn't please everyone...that isn't my goal. i'm true to myself and my beliefs so when someone challenges them, i stand up for them, obviously. anyways, like i said, i dunno if u were trying to aim that towards me...i apologize in advance if it was meant to be a simple generalization. but you know what? i've found that one's brain and attitude really don't get people too far in the game of life. it's a very sad but true fact. like they say, it's not what you know; it's who you know.
