Basically i think it works like this.

First you need a sound card that has an input. You plug whatever stream you have into that input (be it radio, satellite, microphone whatever!). Then you need the sound recording software. Depending on your sound card some might already some with this software. If not then you can use readily available recording software such as TOTAL RECORDER, but i'm sure there are better quality progies out there! (maybe someone could name a few, THANKS).

Usually the input will be recorded in WAV format (so make sure you have lots of hardrive space!), unless your progy can automatically encode into mp3.

What make it 128 or 192 is up to the user. When you convert the WAV into MP3, using a progy such as EZ file converter (www.download.com ; crack at http://cracks.am )you specify what type of quality you want. The higher the data rate the better the quality but 192 is suffice.
