Yeah that's what I think too. Not like it tastes any different but only thing to do is probably research online. Next time I buy. I forgot the brand.

I make a lot of vegetarian Thai food and use fake veggie meats i order from sketchy chinese websites

Sketchy chinese sites? uhhh..... you can't find any legit places that sell veggie meats?

Meh on the veggie meats.
They can be ok, but get stale and some are just gross.

Better to make your own nutburgers or raw burgers.
It's not that difficult if you have any ability to cook.

The dope wings or nuggets are made by Qaurin or somthn like that.
Forget the spelling of the name. Almost all commercial grocery stores have them in the veggie section.

Or Whole food has an even better selection for that kind of stuff.

Hope that helps.

chinese people make THE BEST veggie meats...go here and check it out for yourself, the stuff they think to make is crazy..
http://www.vegieworld.com/

Quorn brand uses some weird fungus based protein...it has made me sick before after eating it and i know more than a few other people that shit themselves uncontrollably after consuming the fake chicken cutlet things. i'd be careful with that one.

Fungus?!?!

Thanks for the heads up, thought that brand tasted best as far as commercial veggie wings go. Don't think ill be eating that brand anymore knowing peeps got sick...

Going to whole food brings up way better options for that kind of stuff.

anything you do with chicken can be done with tofu...there are different "firmness" levels of tofu, which is what makes or breaks a recipie and people's experiences with tofu. in general if you want to use tofu in say a stir-fry, burrito, grill, bake, etc use the firm or extra firm and marinate how you would chicken. if you freeze tofu for a day or two, then thaw it out and cut into slices it works really well in stew and soups and has a really weird texture that soaks up sauces really well.
don't get "silken" tofu unless you want to blend it smooth.
i'd avoid buying any pre-marinated or spiced tofus...they're a total waste of money. whole foods sells fresh tofu by the pound for 99cents. a pound lasts me 2 or 3 meals. try using crumbled tofu in lasagna to add protein instead of cheese. its really good if you use the right tomato sauce.
i should get a veggie cooking show...
