For the most part I hung around the elevated table area, towards the end of the set I chilled behind the guys in the back of the dancefloor working all the switches. There was even a small monitor/camera on Tiesto working the CD-J's/mixer.
The crowd was pretty bleh...but it's trance in LA, what do you expect? Upstairs was pretty dead. I reminded the bartenders up there that they should have a pretty good Friday night since drinks are free up there and they pretty much want to hustle for tips.
Joaquin Bamaca played a pretty slamming opening and closing. He is pretty talented! I've heard him play a couple times now. He played a great set when he opened for Benassi a couple months back also. Here is what I found on him

He's a cool dude. He's one of the Insomniac promoters and basically they're only real resident DJ. I get so jealous. He gets to open all the big Insomniac nights (PVD twice) and he opens the main stage at EDC and Nocturnal. At least I get Kaskade this Sat
