Spain gives Russia a definitive lesson to the "through pass". Russia's midfield looked pretty good, missing those forwards obviously hurt them.
Spain played well, but they shouldn't get too high on themselves, this was only Russia, after all - a team that shouldn't even be in the tournament.

Spain are certainties to go through in my opinion. Although the Russians are behind at the moment, I'd still back them to go through with the Spanish, purely based on their ability to pass and move the ball at pace along the ground. Without Arshavin and Pogrebnyak though, I still struggle to see where your goals are going to come from after you negotiate the group phase and come up against some real class.
