Your metabolism will start to slow down every 10% per decade, after age 30. Eating is a necessity, however, don't deprive yourself of any foods you may enjoy in moderation, so don't overdo it. Remember, eating healthy is a lifestyle, not a choice.

i live to eat because i love food, but i don't always eat junk. i cook myself pretty well balanced meals almost every night. like pasta and chicken or stir fry. i rarely eat fast food...maybe once every 3-4 months i'll grab some arby's or something. then after i eat it, i'm like UGHH.

I think fuelling your body and eating for pleasure go hand in hand...once you train your body to crave the right kind of fuel.

I definetly eat a combination of junk food and healthy food, swaying more towards healthy. I'll normally keep an eye over the course of the day what I'm eating, just to make sure it's all in moderation, but I never go OTT, except for Friday's, that's normally pig-it-out night in the household here.

No.
Is it that hard to balance it?
No.
I feel sorry for people that can't go and enjoy a good meal, because it's "oooooo, too many calories" or something similar. I can't imagine going through my life with that mindset.

yea people like that usually don't have high metabolism so it's easy for us skinnies to say that.
i'm lucky to have high metabolism and thankful that i don't really have to count calories every time i want to eat something. and i doubt it will be slowing down ever. i take after my dad with that...he is tall and lean still even at 56. and he eats pretty much the same way i do. he jogs a mile almost every day in the morning or on his lunch break my mom looks pretty good too. she is 5'3 and weighs about 130, so i got good genes.

I really don't eat much. I mostly just eat out of necessity. Skipping a meal just cause I was working isn't uncommon for me. I have a high metabolism that I am really glad to have.

Your metabolism WILL slow down though. That's just physiological fact. And skipping meals doesn't help. Eating regularly actually keeps your metabolism up, helps your body digest the right stuff, and most importantly, gives you energy. Otherwise your body just uses up the energy from your muscles for fuel...and it uses fat cells last.
