ugh machines are so awful and the distractions aren't needed while running. during physical therapy for my leg, there was nothing more that i wanted than to run outside in the park. in ny, just take a metrocard with you while you're running, in case something happens. it's what i do when i'm in the park, and subway/bus is never more than a few blocks away, not that i need them.

You do realize that is the poing correct? To PUSH you to keep going. Also you get cramps in your side from improper breathing.

i think i read a while ago that you get stitches landing on one leg while you breathe out as opposed to landing on the other.
as for other cramps, stretch, and drink fluids before you run.

I do quite a but of running, 3 or 4 times a week. Mostly between 8 and 15 kilometers, depending on the type of training. Every other weekend or so I do a 20+ kilometer run.
Did a few half marathons, 10k's and 10 mile events so far (recreational). Next year, the marathon. God I'll be knackered.

that's one of the best workouts you can do for maintaining a healthy/fit body. i used to make our flight do a 2-mile run, and we would stop and do 20-25 pushups and situps at every half mile.
ended up being a full 2 miles of running, plus 100 pushups and 100 situps. great workout
