Well...it's not entirely true but there's still a lot of truth to it. If the US hadn't entered WW2, there's a good arguement that England wouldn't have been able to withstand Germany.
Nevertheless, people shouldn't say "we saved your ass in WW2 or whatever"...we helped just as England would have helped the US had it been in trouble.
