It does have that, though not implemented in a way that is very common

I change my vote to FM-8.
Massive is great but I find myself getting those more unique, crisp, hard to get sounds from FM.

The sound quality is just too good.

I forgot to post my favorite effect...

Lately, it's been:

Boost Moog (it's free)

You can really polish some rather dope drum-beats with it... big-beat/breaks, etc.

nexus is great if you want a bunch of canned sounds that you cannot edit in any meaningful way... but for that "type" of sound, i use linplug crono x...

the one that has been in the MOST of my projects over the years is pro-53. i also use the shit out of adventus (awesome $20 plug).

anything by arturia is rhokin... (moog modular v is my fave probably)

of the newest synths i'm a huge huge fm8 guy

That looks pretty cool. I found it on a page containing a bunch of interesting looking beta VSTs (Kriptonia looks intriguing) that some of you may want to check out:

Your making better sense with every post. + 1 to all of that, but I'll add Massive too, for ease of use.
I can't program that much FM but even editing presets in my limited way shows me how powerful it is.

omg fm8 is SO easy... but i always used the shit out of fm-7 so fm-8 wasn't that different...

massive is great, but i just find that i like the matrix in fm-8 a lot more...

and i forgot to mention that i use the hell out of camel space... love it love it love it

but my fave effect plug is either... waves doubler 4 or DC Vocoder...

anyone else have NI Vokator? this is a very good niche synth/effect

david
