Just a bunch of haters on here as usual.
Yes the song is cheesy and we've all heard it a trillion times.
The duo acknowledges this is a crossover record, and as such it's done very well - all the Dance radio stations in America supported it, and it went Top 20 on the UK charts.
How many songs have you all released that people actually went out and purchased? that many of the major DJs played? Aren't some of you only associated with Tech House and minimal crap anyway?
It takes a lot more effort to produce an "Anthem" then it does to produce a minimal track that's going nowhere. |
What is it with this dichotomy? Either you like Trance, or more specifically, Anthem, or you like monotonous minimal clicking...it doesn't quite work that way.
I highly doubt it's merely a group of pretentious minimal enthusiasts and Trance haters who are bashing/bashed on Anthem- it seems to have received criticism from across the board, with a portion of it likely ranging from even the Trance crowd.
The track is slightly above terrible, and I'm not saying this from a Tech House/Techno/Minimal perspective, but rather from the perspective of someone who simply listens to/enjoys Dance music.
