having two widescreen monitors like this also makes it basically impossible to position your speakers well... but everyone seems to forget about that, then spend $1k plus on monitors anyway.

well im screwed then lol

I have two monitors on my work computer, which allows me to keep this and other forums open while I'm working.

I have a dual widescreen setup:

I have Ableton usually in one window and all my VSTi's etc... in the other.

I would recommend getting widescreens, most DAWs work better if they have a bit more horizontal space to work with and you can stretch out waveforms easier

i wanna hang 2 more monitors directly above the two i currently have... 4 screens 2 x 2 would probably be far less confusing then when i had a 4 screen panorama!

heh

we had 2*2 screens at work recently for a project, it wrecked my neck and all the heat from all those pixels where kinda terrible. im telling you, u are not adviced to look in a higher angle that straight horizontal and down 30degres.

I work with 1 screen: Dell wfp 3007HC, which is 2560 * 1600
For me the best of both worlds, more real estate than 2x 20", but not the width of 2 screens.

I've got a seperate 24" widescreen laying around doing nothing, since as mentioned earlier i can not place it next to it on my desk

I was using dual screens for years but had to go back to one because of space constraints / not feeling like buying more furnature. I hardly notice a difference in my work flow/ethic. I may even like having everything on one screen MORE as it's simpler.

Once you go 2 screens, you will NEVER go back. Productivity increases tremendously. I use a 20" LCD as my main screen that has the sequencer on it. To the right is a 24" LCD that I put everything else on. The mixer, VST windows, etc. Using 1 screen causes way too much clutter and window swapping and it will only slow you down.
