Wow, I stop in to see what the buzz is these days with the kids and I see borderline racism. Isn't dance (I refuse to call it EDM, I'm crusty and old) music about being open and accepting? Then I see people classifying the crowd at space as "rafters" and "juan pablo montoya".

OK, back to my own award-winning forum.

Liquified only brings the big trance DJs on weekdays ie Armin, pvd & Tiesto. Everything else is on Fridays @ Swerve (formally WetBar) But they have brought PVD and Tiesto on Fridays on occasion as well. IMO Atlanta has alot better talent coming through lately compared to Miami, heck even Charlotte does lately. Only problem is, I would much rather save up to goto a good party at Space rather than goto Atlanta every other week.

Atleast there is a scene there. They have been trying for years (i got here in 2005) to bring an EDM scene to Hawaii and it just does not pick up. They used to do a "mix at 6" on one of the rap stations but that has gone away.

Hawaii has a very bare bones EDM scene. So be thankfull that you have a Miami that its there if you want to go.

Every city has their own respectable scene or taste, whatever you want to call it. It basically boils down to what talent clubs are willing to book in THAT area. If you have done some traveling then you should have noticed the difference. Dont expect for the Miami scene to adjust to your liking...its not going to happen. Leave FL and party where your favorites play and you will have a def. good time. That spot might look like its popping to you like ppl think this place is for them.

Places that dont even have a scene sound like open territory to me....Get your stuff out there and make a scene. Go figure, Miami used to have more variety before the club scene took over..

From an European view, I think that L.A has the best scene in the US.
Lots of trance dj's every weekend, a trance festival every month and you have also day parties
I would definitively move to L.A for the music but i prefer the Miami's weather.

Definitely some good points in the original post about the clubs being annoying. But, as mentioned in the post, there has been a lot of talent that has come through Miami which can't be that bad.

Most big name DJs come on weekends to Miami unlike other cities where the DJs come mid-week because the promoter can't afford the DJ. Probably part of the reason why prices are lower in other towns. Of course Miami over charges because they can. It's a tourist town and everyone comes with money to spend. Sure NYC and LA gets good shows on weekends, but those cities are much larger than Miami.

Most importantly don't forget that lots of talent right now is in Europe at Festivals or in Ibiza with a residency. That said, things will pick up after summertime and you'll see more talent come through once Ibiza is done and the festivals are done too.

True.

Kinda have an affinity towards that club. It was the first club that I shared some feel to the music.

I personally love having a top calibur dj (who may not be a so called new face) Who of which all the djs named other than Ritchie Hawtin have all spun at Space. Come on with the sun coming up and the people going nuts, in the morning to me is the beauty in our scene. Also to say that everyone is a crack head at Space is like saying that you meet weird people out at a handicaped porn store. Every single party that I have "ever" been to anywhere that I have gone has a serious element of drugs and for an afterhours club I'd say Space was rather tame compared to Detroit,NY, and LA afterhour spots.

Then again its all who ya know and who your with. That will truly dictate your experience.

Have fun everyone because thats what its about.

With minimal at its peak, and people saying how great tech house, tech trance and minimal are, where are the Space bookings of talent like Marco Carola, Carl Cox, Ritchie Hawtin, Lee Burridge, Mauro Picotto, Chris Liebing, Marco V, SVD, Zabiela, etc, etc??? No where to be found. And their house bookings are crap to say the least. Trance bookings are PVD, and that's all folks. Mansion brings better DJs than Space, and that is embarassing to say the least.

Having that great club there and not booking anyone is the equivalent of having a Ferrari in your driveway and taking the bus, or having Jessica Alba naked in your bed and jerking off instead of bangin her. Anyone who applauds or defends Space's mediocrity is full of shit.

This is true. Why are Mansion dicking on Space when it comes to bookings?
