Actually, if you look carefully at the flier you'll see that it only said 12:00 for the boarding time, there was no departure time (which I thought was a bit sketchy but not terribly unusual). The ticket said 12 AM for some reason, haha. I'm not even sure if it specified anywhere how long the cruise was supposed to be - I don't think it did - although obviously there is an expectation that any boat cruise will be at least 4 hours, especially at $50 a head.
And even though the Canada Day cruise departed late, they were also playing while we waited and we docked late, so I do think we got our money's worth for that.
I think it was LIV Events promoting this one, so that's who you want to complain to.
P.S. I hear you about the captain, Evan, but promoters should realize by now that you don't start boarding at 12 PM for a boat that's docking at 4:30. And although it's entirely up to the captain's discretion, the promoters are still ultimately responsible. Sorta like how the manager of a restaurant or bar is ultimately responsible when the food or service is lousy... y'know? Maybe they can't always prevent an incident but they should be on the ball when one occurs, making sure to smooth things over with the customers with whatever reasonable means are available.

The bad:
- lack of security. My bag was opened but not really looked through and I was not patted down. Girls with no purses we not searched at all. And from what my friends say, guys were hardly searched. If we do not feel violated in a small way, the security guards did not do a good enough job searching us.
- So Im in the washroom while we are still docked and a girl pops in, removes a HUGE bottle of G from her skirt... ugh... I did see the result of that on the cruise... but at least no one shit their pants
- I got beat up. lol. I scraped my leg on the stage, resulting in a huge nasty gash on my leg. And what hurt worse... some dude jabbed me with the lit end of his cigarrette. SERIOUSLY PEOPLE IF YOU ARE GOING TO SMOKE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DANCE FLOOR PLEASE HOLD YOUR CIGARRETTE PROPERLY SO NO ONE GETS HURT... Im pretty sure its going to leave a scar
- Desyn, desyn, desyn... Not only was he EXTREMELY late (which I can forgive as apparently he was 'caught up in the airport'... and well even when you're a superstar DJ you still cant control late planes) but when he did arrive he comes in carry two HUGE stuffed animals and a grin on his face. He should have at least looked apologetic or something... Then I feel like he wasnt even behind the decks for half the set. He took off with his 'gf?' for a while... and I paid to see SOS, not Omid 16 and Demi.
- And obviously.... TOO SHORT. But everyone else has done enough bitching about it for me. I will be finding the proper contact people, and I think we all deserve an apology.
Does anyone know their website?? I would like to see the photos they took. http://www.liv-events.ca/ is useless.
The Good:
- The fantastic predrinking/f1 watching the occured in the morning. Definately was the perfect way to start off the day.
- Lots of friends and lots of friendly faces. Loved seeing you all... you definately made the cruise worth the $50
- Matt's sombero and Sagar's 'waterwings'
- The weather was PERFECT. Except I did get some serious sunstroke.
- I really liked the boat... out of the three boats I have been on, this is definately my favourite.
- While we were waiting for Desyn I had a chance to speak with Omid. Really, really nice guy. I mentioned two tracks I wanted to hear.. and I heard them <3
- Their set was really good. Ok not GREAT. But still really really good. Had me dancing 95% of the time. Im looking for two track IDs... The track with the accordian (also heard in their WMC set), and the track that had the sax in it. Mikey will post videos of them tonight (Mikey pls post those videos lol)
Will post a few pics later
