the controller looked similar to this but the knobs were about .5"cm in diameter.. that's a guesstimate.

FYI here is the Machinedrum and Monomachine he had at Sonotheque:

http://www.elektron.se/products/

all he had was 2 of those boxes and a live mixer.

edited to clarify: all he had was those 2 boxes and a mixer.

Man alive does he ever have a bunch of different gear for different shows - I was definitely wondering if you were referring to the Elekton gear or if we were just talking about the monome - very cool to see that it's both.

from what i heard the opener played a good set but it wasn't really an opening set, kate sucked major ass and tejada messed up quite a few times with all that gear. he can have all the gear in the world but if he doesn't know how to use it right it really doesn't matter, does it?

Folks on the Amp forums seemed to think he was just spinning at Smartbar - and didn't have his whole PA setup, or at the very least, a stripped down version of it where he was just using a monome and Ableton.

Obviously I wasn't there, so take that with a grain of salt. I also wasn't surprised at the outlash against Kate, but don't understand why so many people seem to think she always sucks. I've really enjoyed her PA sets...

Well my thing is that regardless if he brought his whole set up or not, he didn't do a very good job. lol. From what I understand we just doing playing live but just playing tracks and not an actual live set (which is what 80% of people do and its bs.) I will leave other comments out of this because of my affiliation, and shit.

That's not usually how Tejada plays though - his live sets are almost always the definition of a good live PA, and not just safe, boring Abletr0n DJ'ing.

Fucking politician. It's comments like this that make me thank my lucky charms I don't particularly care what anyone else thinks about my opinion as long as it's an honest one - affiliations or not.

Lol, dude - I don't say anything because people keep asking me what my plans are and I don't actually have any yet. Between trying to figure out how I'm moving, when I have to start work, how I'm going to pay my bills for this month, and trying to come to Chicago one time before heading home - there is a lot going on right now, and I can't commit to anything, hence me not trying to tell anyone "I am doing ________" until I myself actually know what it is I will be doing.

We'll see - to be honest, if anything I was thinking about coming down Thursday night, chilling for the night (crash at Dave's), catch the Clone Wars on Friday afternoon, and then head back up. Obviously nothing is set yet, but there's a chance I might have to meet with the Exec. VP (dude who hired me) of my department on Saturday for an American Psycho style "they don't have a good bathroom to do coke in" luncheon.

Trust me, the moment I know I'm going to be in Chicago for sure, you'll be the first to know
