it's definitely impressive what he has done in swimming. i really don't know how you can rank olympians against each other though because they are all so different. Best swimmer ever? that could probably be argued

Phelps might or might not be the greatest Olympian of all time. Carl Lewis was amazing in his prime. It's all too subjective, anyway.
