because it would hurt to start the night with my hands in the air.

totally appropriate for him to play house and move into trance the last 2-3-4 tracks as a lead in. menno that night didn't even start with trance - he started with fall to pieces by jonas steur.

MO's openers rarely impressed me but he's always been a solid closer.

I'm not saying it should be hands in the air right away..

Are people in here really saying that the opener's set just has to be ok? You can have a slower, less intense good set. There is no excuse for playing bad music to open the night, regardless of what your role is, or what time of night it is. Get people excited and having fun without destroying them.

Mark has two main problems:

1) He plays way to loud. No matter what time of night, what song, what headliner, what style, the volume is always cranked. You can hear the best DJ's raise the volume through a set, something Mark does not believe in.

2) He does not flow into the headliner. He just plays what ever, and it usually ends up sounding like a jukebox rather than a programmed set. Sometimes the songs he plays back to back are so different you may think different DJ's are playing. Pick a mood/style/direction, and run with it.

I think the fact that he plays different styles is what makes him such a unique DJ...

I do believe that was Exodus. We're talking 1992 here.

I find it funny that masterm5 registered on TA two weeks ago & started a thread about the Toronto scene/some local dj’s that same day. Now Nocturnal_66 makes an account & starts this thread about MO.

So? I've been living in the GTA for 11 years now and know the EDM scene very well. Just because I wasn't a member of TOTA doesn't mean I don't know what i'm taking about.

I never said you don’t know what you’re talking about… read my post don’t just pick out a few words & hit reply.

I said I find it funny. Both new threads by very new members & both basically putting local To. dj’s down. I could be wrong & one may not have anything to do with the other but its still a bit funny... at least to me.
