The tune mixing in at 1:00 is "SuperMayer - Two Of Us". Not really psy, though.

No psy in that vid. Just a clap every second beat.

Did you guys actually enjoy his performance as a DJ? No offense to Joel (though I doubt he'll come back to this thread now that he's done his vancouver shenanigans) but knowing 80% of the tracks a DJ is going to play beforehand would make me less engaged. I'm not a deadmau5 hater, in fact I've really enjoyed a few of his tracks, but a whole night of clap clap clap?

He doesn't DJ. For the most part, he runs his tracks through Ableton for a 'live PA' show.

here's what it all comes down to.
a tracklist is just a tracklist, not to mention in the case of this thread where the total tracklist accounts for maybe half of what was played.
Anyone with any sense or ability to have a good time will tell you that going to a club and hearing it all in a setting with great sound & an energetic crowd is a whole lot different than looking over said tracklist or listening to that same stuff at home.
Now add another element into the picture, the fact that you've got a room of people appreciating it because they know the guy who made the majority of those tracks is right there at the helm. If you're there in the first place it's probably because you're a fan of that person's music.. so of course you're going to expect or hope to hear some of your favs and it'll always be more significant hearing the artist himself play it. That being said though a truly great artist will never be predictable from start to finish and will twist things up and come to the plate with some bangin new stuff you've never heard.
I came out for the Thurs show and overall I'd say it was a good show. Not amazing, but pretty consistently good from start to finish which actually says a lot since I usually get bored with most djs and am hard to impress when it comes to music & djs (byproduct of 13 yrs playing shows). I think most who attended would say it was a great show.
On a separate note, it's nice to see a Canadian join the ranks of one of only a handful of electronic artists who needed to do 2 shows back to back to fit the demand and selling out both with ease. Represent!
for the friday show it was a sample from the anime Ghost in the Shell with Not Exactly.. i heard from a friend that he played this before too for his live shows... pretty neat stuff..

oh my gosh. a week later, & i STILL can't get enough of that sometimes things get...whatever track. ahhhh! =) & once again, ear plugs saved my soul. xD
hmm...after being to celebrities this many times now, i've noticed that the openers there have been playing the same tracks.
& i've also noticed that that bouncer dude has now come to recognize me. xD it made me smile.
lastly, it was PACKED. & i mean PAAACKED. jesus. but it started thinning out about 45 minutes into his set. my assumption: pple got too rowdy/excited &/or intoxicated too quickly; mofos didn't pace 'emselves. =P ah, yes. that's where us t.a.'ers differ from normies; eh?
anyway. it was great to see everyone again. & it was definately my sander van doorn warm up for tonight. woo hoo! =)
