| quote: | | This pertains to Serato only, but since we've discussed it here, I'll pose the question. Since I use my own folder structure and constantly add files to the folders, I find it extremely time consuming to always have to either delete the folder in Serato and re add it, or re drag and drop the files to the serato folders that have been modified. Is there no other way so that Serato will update files added on it's own?? What do you guys do? |
Unfortunately, ScratchLIVE doesn't have "Smart Crates" (self updating crates that are tied to folders on your hard drive). This has been a long standing feature request though.
You can just re-drag the entire folder onto the crate and it will only add the new songs. You don't have to re-drag the individual files.
However, a friend of mine and SratchLIVE guru has written a program, ScratchTools, that can do exactly this, sync crates to folders, as well as a bunch of other cool things ScratchLIVE cannot do (yet) like export crates to text files/Excel (great if you need a text file print out of your set you played last night, or cataloging your entire collection), exporting songs in a crate to another folder, order all your crates alphabetically, etc. ScratchTools is command line based though, no GUI (yet), so if you're timid of command line and code or not that computer savvy/geeky you might have a little trouble. But it's not that complicated we'll help you out on the ST forums if you have trouble. Plus you can write scripts for it so you only have to set it up once, then just run the script whenever you add new files to your folders. So, if you want to check it out... http://scratchtools.de/
