So FL compensates automatically now? Or do you set that yourself? I know Live's got a manual track delay in the mixer, but I usually just adjust the start position of the clip itself, so you can see the hit on the waveform.
If you exported the virus control to audio, wouldn't that audio be out of time, since its just a reflection of the MIDI? You'd still have to apply the track delay or move the start point of the clip I think.
Latency is the bane of my existence, because my soundcard doesn't report it properly, so I had months where I couldn't work out why my vocals sounded lazy before working out they were actually a full 16th slow

Auto PDC is the worst
If you ever plan on using any sort of hardware, I strongly suggest you go with another sequencer.

Its not even just hardware, the voxengo plugins and the psp vintage warmer are notorious for screwing delay issues up.

not automaticly, there's a pre and post delays in ms in the mixer channels, which you'll then manually change.

yeah if you do export then you dont' need to worry about latency.

well it's still synced in time because of the midi, just record it and put it to start where you want. i usually cut the silence off before the first note so it's easier to place in. working with audioclips is as easy as it gets, i even export most of my heavy vstis too.
ive been using FL all mny producing life, and I dont think Ill change anytime soon. Ive got a couple of tracks out, got a new EP coming out in a couple of weeks or so.. so i cant really complain..
it depends on the stile of music you are making.
if you are happy with the program and reach a point were, lets say cubase will better suit your needs then change.
every person here has started some where.belive it or not i first started out on music 2000 on the play stayshion.
made some of the best tracks ever now ive moved to fl/7,and cant make fuck all at the moment, realy pissing me of.
I use a lot of hardware synths and the PSP Vintage Warmer for each of them. I just set everything to post 90 ms (30 ms without) and have no problems what so ever.
A lot easier than what I have to do in Ableton Live in my opinion.

I use Ableton, but last week I tried to hook my Ti Desktop up to FL8 with the post at 90ms, which normally works, however, this time it didn't. Does anyone know if the new OS virus just released is compatible with Fl 8?

Thomas Datt, and Mike Saint-Jules are users.
there are lots of professional users. People seem to hate on it for being too straight forward, which in my opinion makes the haters seem back-ass-backwards to me...

I used Reason 2 & 3 for 2 years. Fruity now for 4.
Saw Reasons Thor and Arp additions, got Reason 4. Used it for a week, back to Fruity. I've tried demos of others like Ableton and I always wind up going back to Fruity.
For the few things Fruity doesn't do, I find about a million things in other programs that are that much worse. I'm about 98% sure at this point I'll be nothing but Fruity for life.
I also think a lot of people wind up settling with a DAW simply because of accidental serendipity. Like you just use one program for such a long time, you really get to learn the deeper aspects of it, and because you invest all that time, you become less and less likely of learning something new.
Of course it depends, but thats just the position I'm in, + I just love Fruity.
