I tried it room temperature, slightly chilled, freeze-chilled, straight, on the rocks, on fire, whatever. Nothing can make that substance taste good.
VDub: I figured that my post would have been self-evident as hyperbole, as it doesn't really taste worse than any other kind of vodka. It's just that vodka in general is horrible to drink straight, and maybe I just have an unsophisticated booze palate (seriously doubt that), but I didn't find that Grey Goose improves on it. And the problem with Grey Goose is that it's also too strong to mix, so it's kind of useless to have sitting around. I might end up using it next time I make penne with vodka sauce, see how well it cooks.
If you want to drink liquor "straight" (or just mixed with other liquor) then there are better, cheaper choices. Any liqueur like sambuca or amaretto or if you're desperate for harder stuff, rum or scotch. My personal favourite's always been the B-52. If your objective is just to get trashed as quickly as possible, there's tequila shots or jager bombs. Oh, and in Europe it's all about the grappa. But hell, man, anything's better than straight vodka; it does a better job of cleaning gout than rewarding your taste buds.
