There is an extremely long stretch of land in Australia, called the Hay Plains, where there is essentially nothing but desert for hundreds of kilometers. In one section, you can drive for about 3-4 hours before you reach another town. When I was about 15, my family and I were driving along this stretch. At one point, I noticed what looked like a big corrugated iron shed on the horizon. I took one glance and thought nothing of it.
About half an hour later, driving at 130Km/h+, the "shed" was still there. The only way it could have still been in our vision is if we were driving around it. However, The road through the Hay Plains is virtually straight, so it was not just an illusion of perspective. As I looked at the "shed", I noticed it was actually moving; darting back and forth, but always running parallel to the car. I told my parents and sister, who all noticed it too.
For about 3-4 hours, this thing was sitting on the horizon, seemingly moving in parallel to the car. To date, none of us have any explanation for it.
