Newsflash: Berlin is in fact the second biggest "Turkish" city after Istanbul! Much like New York City is the second biggest Jewish city after Tel Aviv. Considering that Turkish food in Turkey as different from Berlin Turkish food as is your local Chinese restaurant from original Beijing cuisine (that entire "Kebab" phenomenen is not really known in the homecountry itself) it's a fair statement to make
Also there's a difference between Turkish kebab, Greek gyros and Arab/Israeli shawarma.
